The Bios Urn is a biodegradable urn, designed to turn the ashes of a person or pet into a tree. Thanks to its design and manufacture, the urn provides proper germination and later growth of the tree, based on a person or pet’s ashes. In this way, death becomes a transformation and return to life by means of nature.

The intent of the Bios Urn is to offer families an alternative for remembering their loved ones in a natural, ecologically sustainable manner, thereby turning the “death” process into regeneration and a return to life through nature.

The Bios Urn comes with a Pine Tree seed.  However, any seed can be used with the Bios Urn.  We recommend you consider a plant or tree that is appropriate to your region, otherwise often referred to as planting zone.  You can always purchase a “live” tree seedling from your local nursery to ensure the best growth success.

The process for planting not difficult.  First, place the ashes into the lower part.  Close the lower part with the upper capsule.  Next, plant the urn in the ground. Then, after planting the urn you will mix the components in the top portion; by adding soil from the planting area and mixing with the peat moss that is provided.  Finally add the tree seed or “live” plant on top of the Bios Urn Capsule.  The Bios Urn should be placed roughly two (2) inches below the surface or below the root ball of your live plant. with the peat moss provided adding soil from the planting area, and mixing in the peat moss that is provided.

Note *** Make sure that you check the local rules regarding planting as some states only allow burials to occur on private property.

Yes, the Bios Urn may be used with ash saved from another urn or stored ashes. If you already have the ash in your house, you may purchase the Bios Urn and plant it wherever you want.

No, the Bios Urn does not have an expiration date.  The material it is designed with will keep the Bios Urn Stable for many years prior to use.  To ensure its preservation it is recommended to keep the Bios Urn in a dry location.

The Bios Urn for humans and pets is essentially the same product with similar color and shape. The main difference is the packaging.
