What is the Living Urn?

It is an all in one biodegradable urn and planting system made from plant waste and cellulose; designed to transform your loved ones cremains into a living tree, plant, or flower.

What is the purpose of the Living Urn?

Living Urn provides a wonderful way to memorialize your loved one while breathing new life into the world through a tree, plant or flowers.

What types of seedlings can I use with the Living Urn?

Seedlings are provided from the Arbour Day Foundation.  The seedlings are available in either evergreen or seasonal deciduous.  Locations are broken down into zones and specific seasonal trees are available within each zone.

What is the guarantee on the seedlings received?

The seedling received is guaranteed to arrive in healthy condition or it will be replaced free of charge.  The evergreens received will have needles on them and the seasonal seedlings will arrive without leaves yet, typically have buds on them.

Are there shipping restrictions for seedlings?

Yes, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii only allow the evergreen seedlings to be shipped not the seasonal seedlings.  If you live in one of those states and want a seasonal tree we suggest purchasing one locally within the state.

Does the Living urn have an expiration date?

No, the urn and all of its components do not have an expiration date.  We do recommend that you store it in a dry place until usage.  However once ordered the seedlings do have a shelf life and it is recommended that they be planted within two (2) to three (3) days of arrival.

Can I use the living urn with old ashes?

Absolutely,  They can be used with ashes of any age.

Is the living Urn available for pets?

Yes, it is essentially the same product, with the main difference being the size.
